External confirmation can be an overwhelming problem.
So often many good thinking people will want to prophesy about your calling to preach the gospel. They may be Christian believers, secular acquaintances, people you don't even know.
They may also be in your family, uncles and aunts, cousins or just people who know you and live on your block. But let your antennae be sensitized only to the impressions and messages you receive from God. Learn what to expect from the church family.
While it's true, that God will sometimes speak to you through others only you will be able to say,” that’s God”. In fact, they may not even know that God is using them speak to you.
Here is one of the rules that I live by; take your orders from the Lord, only. Remember, not a preacher or pastor, not a deacon or evangelist, not someone you highly respect… but only rest upon the Word of The Lord.
Learn to recognize the leading of the Lord. We know that there is one sure way to know him--- it's called, prayer. It is God who changes things, circumstances, what seems inevitable, and people WHEN WE PRAY.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land”(2Chro. 7:14).
God answers our prayers when we pray.
One of the reasons I believe we aren't further alone in our relationship with the Lord is because we just don't have the faith for it.
Remember … “Without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Heb. 11:6).”
Yes, I believe the Lord speaks to us not only in prayer, but in daily appearances and in every circumstance of our lives. That means that He is everywhere all the time and is aware of our situation. But because in some things we haven't developed the faith for them, we cannot receive His truth.
Take the time to study Abraham with a focus on faith. You'll see that higher faith is a process. If you and I are going to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ we will need more than just a fundamental belief. We will need to be finely attuned to the spirit of God with unbreakable faith. Remember…” For whatever is not of faith is sin.”(Rom. 14:23b)
